Finding effective insect repellents that travel well can be difficult. Below are some popular products I use when I travel.
Insect Repellents in TSA friendly sizes:
20% Picaridin is popular with many travelers since it is non-sticky and virtually odorless.
Natrapel * spray, 8 hours of protection 20% Picaridin
Sawyer * lotion, up to 12 hours of protection from 20% Picaridin
30% DEET in a liposomal formula is non-greasy, lasts all day and is easy on your skin:
Ultrathon * 30% DEET in a liposomal lotion for 12 hours of protection. It’s sweat proof and non-irritating. Ideal for travel.
Sawyer * 30% DEET in a liposomal lotion for 12 hours of protection. It’s virtually odorless and non-irritating.
Insect Repellents to apply to your clothing before you travel:
Apply Permethrin spray to your clothing before you travel. Once dry it provides an invisible shield against ticks, mosquitos, flies and other problem bugs. Spray the inside and outside of clothing and allow to dry before packing. It’s effective for 6 washings or 6 weeks, whichever comes first. Permethrin Clothing Treatment*
